Edinburgh firefighters tackle shop blaze as smoke and flames fill the sky

A shop has erupted into a raging inferno late last night as four fire appliances attended the midnight blaze and were reportedly still there this morning.

The fire broke out around midnight last night causing concern across the community as thick smoked billowed from the line of buildings on Easter Drylaw Place.

It is currently unclear what caused the fire but a number of fire engines were in attendance to try and control the blaze which as well as police.

Firemen reportedly had to break down the roof of the shop to stop the fire continuing to spread.

Shocking pictures show the raging fire ripping up through the roof of the shops as fire services use a cherry picker to spray the blaze from afar.
