Edinburgh festival took £600k in Scottish taxpayer funding before moving to England

THE Edinburgh TV Festival received almost £600,000 in funding from the Scottish Government before its organisers announced it would be relocated to Greater Manchester, The National can reveal.

In June, the Edinburgh TV Festival’s board of directors confirmed the annual event will be held in the Scottish capital for the last time this August as they plan to move it across the English Border in a bid to “radically reduce the costs”.
