The countdown is well and truly on to this year's Edinburgh's Festival Fringe, which is billed as 'the single greatest celebration of arts and culture on the planet.'
For the first time in two years the Festival will well and truly be back in full flow after it's covid-related cancellation in 2020 and the pandemic having a significant impact on last year's event.
What's more, this year is particularly special for the city, as it marks the 75th anniversary of the festival's inauguration, way back in 1947.

Thousands are set to flock to Scotland's capital to enjoy everything Edinburgh has to offer as performers from across the globe prepare to take stage at hundreds of venues across the city.
Organisers say the eagerly-anticipated 2022 event will deliver: "big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events."
They add: "This festival doesn’t just attract performers and visitors from all around the world, it’s also a hotspot for creative producers and the media scouting for the next big talent."

When is this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe?
This year's festival kicks off on Friday August 5, with the final day on Monday August 29, meaning there's over three weeks of performances and events for the people of Edinburgh - and its visitors - to enjoy this time round.
