A cyclist has been hospitalised after colliding with a car on a busy roundabout on the Edinburgh Bypass.
Police and paramedics raced to the scene at the Sheriffhall Roundabout after being alerted to the smash just after 5pm on Tuesday. Fire crews also assisted cops as they dealt with the crash.
The cyclist was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. Their gender, age, the nature of their injuries and current medical condition were not disclosed.
No other injuries have been reported at this stage. Two lanes heading west were closed off in the aftermath.

Police Scotland confirmed the incident to Edinburgh Live on Tuesday evening at which point they revealed that the route has been reopened.
A spokesman for the force said: “We were made aware of a crash involving a car and a cyclist at Sheriffhall Roundabout off the A720 at around 5.05pm on Tuesday, September 20. The cyclist has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
"The road has reopened.”
