Edinburgh British Airways passengers stuck in long check-in queues due to 'staff absences'

British Airways customers at Edinburgh Airport have hit out at the airline after being stuck in huge queues at check-in. Passengers are seen standing in long queues just to drop off bags with reports that just two members of staff were on hand to help.

One fed-up customer said they had been waiting in the queue for an hour and 40 mins and another has been stuck for over an hour despite paying for priority. There have also been delays to flights and boarding is also being affected.

Erin Robison said: "Priority line over 1 hour at Edinburgh Airport. Absolutely cluster, boarding was even worse. Do not bother purchasing first EVER with British Airways."

British Airways told the Record that check-in and boarding were being delayed due to staff absence with a third-party provider. High levels of sickness are being reported due to a new wave of covid cases.

Some flights are experiencing small delays but queues have been longer than normal also due to customers arriving up to five or six house before their scheduled flight.
