For cheaper than the cost of a return train ticket to Glasgow, you may be able to book return flights to popular European holiday destinations.
With Covid-19 restrictions being dropped in countries all over the world, including Scotland, many people are keen to jet off and enjoy some summer sun.
Many may not be aware, however, that flying to Europe for a quick getaway may actually be cheaper than hopping on the train to Glasgow.

The cost of an Anytime Return ticket from Edinburgh to Glasgow is currently £31.10.
For as little as £17, you could book a return trip to Ibiza this month through SkyScanner — that's close to half the price of the train.
Return flights to the Spanish destinations of Alicante, Lanzarote, and Valencia can also be nabbed for for £27, £31, and £31 respectively.
Elsewhere, looking to Italy, there are numerous destinations that you can book a return flight to through SkyScanner for cheaper than the £31 train to Glasgow.
These include Turin (£13), Milan (£18), and Bologna (£29).
If you're after a French getaway, there are plenty of destinations available for a budget price — including the capital Paris which you can book a return to for as little as £17.
Other French cities you can fly to for cheap are Marseille (£17), Bordeaux (£22), and Nantes (£25).
There are a huge range of other European countries that can be flown to for under £31 this month, including Germany, Norway, Finland, Romania, and Croatia.
