Eddie Howe's Newcastle United vow to Burnley and Leeds United on relegation d-day

Eddie Howe has assured both Burnley and Leeds that his side will make it a fair fight on a crucial day in Premier League history. The Magpies go into the final game of the season knowing they could hammer the final nail into Burnley’s relegation coffin.

Although, should Leeds fail to beat Brentford in the capital, the result will become effectively meaningless as the Clarets have a better goal difference.

Speaking about the game today Howe said: “We will pick our strongest team and try to win the game. There’s no let up, tactically we will try to get it right.

“We know from previous experience that we need to be mentally right.”

Howe will also be heading back to his old club after spending time at Turf Moor. He said: “I respect everybody at Burnley and I really enjoyed my time there and will always be grateful to them.

“I went back to Bournemouth as a much better manager."

United have an injury doubt on Ryan Fraser who has picked up a fresh hamstring injury.
