Eddie Hearn names the three fighters Anthony Joshua could face next after Daniel Dubois defeat

Eddie Hearn has revealed the three boxers under consideration to face Anthony Joshua next after his defeat to Daniel Dubois.

Joshua was knocked out by Dubois in the fifth round at Wembley on Saturday in front of a record-breaking 96,000-strong crowd.

The 34-year-old has faced calls to retire after the fourth loss of his career, but insisted he can come back and become a world champion for a third time.

And Joshua’s promoter Hearn has revealed his fighter could rematch Dubois next, take on Tyson Fury or even go up against Deontay Wilder.

“We have a contract with Riyadh season for another fight,” Hearn told iFL TV. “One of our options is to rematch Daniel Dubois.

“All the conversations initially are geared towards the rematch with Daniel Dubois.

“[But] do we wait for December 21st which is Fury v [Oleksandr] Usyk, because for me the biggest fight in boxing still to this day is - even after Saturday - is Fury against AJ.

“Tell me a bigger fight than that. If Fury was to lose maybe they both say ‘right let’s give the public one last hurrah, two big fights, done’.

“Or if Fury wins he could defend against AJ for the unified world heavyweight title and AJ could beat him and become a three-time world heavyweight champion.

“Anything is possible. Or we could rematch Daniel Dubois. Or he could fight someone else - Deontay Wilder. I don’t know, I mean it’s not something that’s been discussed yet but two guys coming off defeats, big punchers, someone’s got to go from the sport.

“But for me I think the options are rematch Daniel Dubois or wait and see what happens in Fury against Usyk.”
