Eddie Hearn has priceless reaction to Jake Paul being drowned out by fans' boos

Eddie Hearn had a big grin on his face as Jake Paul was being booed by the New York crowd following Katie Taylor's win over Amanda Serrano.

Taylor retained her unbeaten status and undisputed lightweight title by winning a split decision against featherweight champion Serrano in a thrilling fight at Madison Square Garden. They became the first two women in history to headline a boxing event at first the 'world's most famous arena'.

The result of the fight was debated by fans as Paul was adamant that Serrano - who is managed by his company Most Valuable Promotions - had done enough to get the win. Speaking after the fight, Paul was drowned out by boos which put a smile on fellow promoter Hearn's face.

"It was a draw at best; we thought we won, we thought Amanda won. Amanda performed amazing and fought a fight of a lifetime," Paul said.

"That was Arturo Gatti versus Mickey Ward, that was incredible; both women fought their hearts out and this was a historic moment. The crowd is booing but everyone is a winner here tonight and I'd be mad too if I was them.

"Kudos to Katie Taylor for what she's done for women's boxing and kudos to Amanda Serrano, you've got to give credit where credit's due. Let's run it back, like Eddie said, September or October, this second fight just got a whole lot bigger."

"The fourth was treacherous, the fifth was tough but she came back and how she managed to win the sixth, the seventh, eighth... the 10th was very close. It was an amazing fight, just a thrilling fight.

Hearn was forced to back out of a $1million bet on the fight with Paul, but new terms of the wager could see the brash YouTube star "knocked out" according to the Matchroom boss. Hearn was full of praise for Taylor and said the undisputed clash is one of the greatest fights ever at Madison Square Garden.

"I'm so proud of Katie Taylor, the greatest Irish athlete of all time in my opinion, she's such a humble individual, such a great role model and such a great ambassador," he said. "II've said it before, the way women's boxing has longevity and sustainability is through its quality and tonight, forget male or female, you just saw one of the greatest fights in Madison Square Garden's history."
