easyJet flight forced to make emergency landing at Glasgow Airport amid issue

An easyJet flight has been forced to make an emergency landing at Glasgow Airport amid an issue.

The airline's flight EZY2259, to Reykjavik in Iceland, was diverted to the city's airport shortly after taking off from Manchester at around 6.25am this morning.

According to the firm's flight status checker online, the aircraft landed in Glasgow at around 8.15am due to a "passenger welfare issue".

Following the diversion, the flight continued its original journey after the issue.

The airline's flight status checker said: "We're very sorry that your flight has now been diverted.

"This is due to a passenger welfare issue.

"The disruption to your flight is outside of our control and is considered to be an extraordinary circumstance."
