With many gearing up for Bonfire Night, experts at the Bottle Club have shared a simple but delicious Baileys hot chocolate recipe.
Scots will have noticed that it's getting colder outside, and some will want to heat themselves up after getting home from their local fireworks. Since Bonfire Night is an exciting spectacle for many, adults may also want to have a tasty drink - or to impress their pals with their mixology skills, writes Hull Live.
The Bottle Club have shared a smart way to heat up both your cold hands and your spirits with a hot chocolate drink which has been made with Baileys Original Irish Cream, - which they currently have on offer for £14.99. The cheap and simple to make drink only requires a couple extra ingredients to whip up.
How to make Baileys Sparkler Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 400g pack Dark Cooking Chocolate
- 800ml Whole milk
- 1 tbsp Cornflour mixed with 2 tbsp whole milk
- Marshmallow Squares
- Whipped Cream
- 200ml Baileys Original Irish Cream
- Small indoor sparklers (optional - for a Bonfire Night twist)
Method:
- Put half the chocolate in a saucepan with the milk and cornflour
- Gently heat, whisking until the chocolate is melted, smooth and thickened
- Add the remaining chocolate and Baileys
- Whisk until smooth off the heat
- Divide between thick glasses and top with whipped cream and a toasted marshmallow square
- Light a sparkler, pop in the top and serve immediately
Fireworks displays will be taking place across Scotland, although restrictions are in place that will limit the times in which people can set them off. It comes after new laws were introduced last month that criminalises proxy-buying fireworks for under-18s.
