EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite's reason why she has fallen in love with Liverpool

Tamzin Outhwaite swooned as she revealed she has fallen in love with Liverpool.

The 51-year-old is renowned for her role as Mel Owen in EastEnders. Tamzin portrayed the character across two stints from 1998 - 2019. The soap star has forged an impressive career in showbiz with credits in shows such as Hotel Babylon and Inside No.9.

Tamzin's latest project has brought her to Merseyside and she shared a snap of the city on Twitter ahead of her frist day on set. She said: "Day 1 of new job . Liverpool looking lovely at 6am this morning.

"Still on set working right now…but loving it. Can’t wait for tonight’s cold shower." Tamzin has only been in the city for a couple of days but she has already had her heart stolen by Merseyside.

She tweeted : "I think I have fallen in love with Liverpool." The TV star shared another update as she revealed what makes the city so special.

She said: "Liverpool…. THE PEOPLE!!!" Followers flooded the comments to echo Tamzin's praise for Merseyside.

NIcola said: "Best city in the world!"

Katie added: "We love visitors and our aim is to recruit them all (well, most) as honorary scousers!"
