EastEnders will air worrying scenes this January in the fallout to Mick Carter's death, as New Year's Day's episode of the BBC soap could see a tragedy.
A party at the Slaters' house for New Year's Eve ends in disaster, when a gas leak leaves lives on the line.
Just as viewers will see characters reunite and others face panic, some of the residents begin to feel unwell, leading to at least three of them collapsing.
Meanwhile Jean Slater worries, when she fears Harvey is going to propose to her just as they look set to get their romance back on track.
Eve Unwin is still battling her feelings for Suki Panesar, amid her telling her secret love interest that she had decided to make a go of things with husband Nish.
Both Suki and Nish arrive at the party leaving Eve shaken, while she soon sets about encouraging them to stay - wanting to befriend Nish.
Later on though, there's horror when Nish can't find Suki and Eve suddenly collapses - sparking serious concern.
She isn't the only one in grave danger though, as Jean faints in Harvey's arms as she too takes a turn.
Her granddaughter Lily Slater is another unlucky victim of the gas leak, as she begins to be sick before collapsing in the hallway.
Bobby Beale finds her and raises the alarm, with the emergency services called to the house.
As paramedics arrive to help those who have collapsed, they tell everyone to evacuate the house immediately.
It's confirmed that there has been a carbon monoxide leak and that everyone in the house is at risk, and must get outside.
Lily is rushed to hospital, with her worried mother Stacey by her side - but will she be okay?
It seems Eve will be fine as the next day, Nish speaks to her about the boiler and he panics the Slaters will sue him over the incident.
Later in the week he finds himself publicly humiliated, when Harvey tells everyone Nish supplied the family with a dodgy boiler. But as the truth comes out, will someone else be to blame?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
