Former EastEnders actress Rita Simons was left horrified today after a tree smashed through her fence into her garden.

Storm Eunice has been causing havoc across the country, bringing 122mph winds with it - the strongest ever recorded.

Sharing her own experience with the horrifying weather, Rita took to Instagram as she gave her followers a look at her yard.

Filming the scenes, which showed a huge tree had crashed through the fence and was lying across her garden, she wrote: "Current state of my garden."

It comes after Gemma Collins revealed that she had been bathed in darkness this evening after winds wreaked havoc at her Essex home.

The 41-year-old was forced to resort to tea lights after her £1.3million home was subjected to a power cut.

Sharing a photograph of her gorgeous home, hundreds of tea lights could be seen dotted around on the marble countertops.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, she captioned the photo: "Power cut life hours !!!!".

Earlier today, Joe Swash also shared his horror at the trees being torn down in his garden.

Joe expressed his disbelief over the extreme winds destroying his home and garden he shares with fiancee Stacey Solomon.

Stacey is currently away from home while filming and gave an update revealing that she was staying safe inside in the warm.

Sharing a photo of herself breastfeeding daughter Rose, she said: "Sorry I've been so quiet! These filming days are super long and any break I get I'm like this. I'm missing the boys so so much. Two sleeps down to go. I hope you're all ok and keeping safe in this crazy storm. Miss uuu can't wait to be home & back on here."

It comes as Storm Eunice causes chaos around the UK, ripping O2 Arena's iconic roof "to pieces", blowing over lorries on the motorway and causing travel chaos as over 430 flights were cancelled.

Hundreds of rail lines blocked and road bridges have also been closed after a rare "do not travel" alert was issued across railways in England and Wales.
