EastEnders fans have theorised how Mick Carter could bring about the long-awaited comeuppance of murderer Gray Atkins as Monday night's soap kicked off a explosive week.
Little is known about how Gray's storyline comes to an end this week, but there are rife predictions of a whodunnit from fans.
He is finally caught out over his horrific crimes, leading to residents wanting revenge, with a stunt on the streets of Albert Square teased, but it still remains to be seen whether the police will catch up with Gray or he will meet a grisly end.
On Monday’s instalment of the soap, DCI Arthurs asked Gray to come down to the station to discuss Tina's death. He provided his DNA, but insisted he had no connection to the tragedy.
When Gray realised the police have no evidence to link him to the crime, he refused to cooperate further and left.
In later scenes, Mick and Shirley visited Gray, demanding to know why he was questioned, only for Gray to pretend to be grieving for Tina amid promises he would help in any way he could.
However, when Shirley let slip some key information - that the police are searching through CCTV footage for Tina's killer - Gray realised it was time to plot his escape.
Later in the soap, when Whitney learnt of Tina’s death, she told Mick that she thinks Gray was responsible.
EastEnders fans took to Twitter to speculate how Gray's demise could come about later this week - will many pointing to a crucial phone call Tina made to Mick before her death.
One wrote: "Mick really needs to check his phone and hand it into the police. Tina’s message and call log should still be in his phone."
Another noted: "Tina tried to call you Mick on the night she died" alongside a string of crying emojis.
A third tweeted: "Did Mick ever listen to the message Tina left for him, that fateful night...if only she called the police. It would've been recorded"
As Mick noted that Gray was the last to see Tina alive, many suggested this is another point the police could now hold him on, writing: "Yes precisely Mick...Gray was the last one to see Tina & Chantelle alive...yet the police didn't cotton on & delve deeper at the time."
Another tweeted: "Mick go with your gut. Hold on to that suspicion you have about Gray."
As Shirley revealed the CCTV evidence that could come into play as the walls close in on Gray, one fan wrote: "CCTV and DNA will nail him!" and another tweeted: "Times ticking for Gray"
BBC spoilers have revealed that the truth about Chantelle Atkins' death at Gray’s hands comes to light this week, just after the discovery of Tina Carter's body.
The Carters soon learn Gray was likely behind her demise, while residents still have no idea that Gray also killed Kush Kazemi.
A trailer for this week's episodes has promised plenty of drama, as several residents are shown searching for the killer around Walford.
As the police descend on the Square, a manhunt is underway - with more than one character becoming embroiled in a showdown of sorts with Gray.
New EastEnders spoilers for later this month reveal the residents of Walford will be in shock, following dramatic scenes on the BBC soap.
This comes as EastEnders' Toby-Alexander Smith, who plays serial killer Gray, told Radio 2's Zoe Ball the journey on the BBC soap had been "emotional".
Reflecting on his exit, Toby said: "It is really.... we filmed some stuff the other day and I actually got quite emotional just talking out loud about this whole journey as Gray because it’s been such a rollercoaster, to see it climax and to see it all come together it did actually affect me more than I thought it would."
