EastEnders aired good news on Thursday night, as BBC soap fans saw Kheerat Panesar return to Walford.
The character was finally freed from prison over the attack on Gray Atkins that almost killed him.
It was self-defence and an accident, as Kheerat was being attacked by the serial killer.
Kheerat had fled the scene of the crime after Gray's wife Chelsea called the police, and told them it was Kheerat who had attacked him.
All the police seemed interested in was that Kheerat had seemingly brutally attacked a man and left him for dead.
Even after Gray's crimes were exposed earlier this month, they refused to let him go.
His mum Suki had got the family lawyer on the case, and was disheartened when she urged her son to plead guilty.
Kheerat agreed to this, but what he didn't know at the time was his lawyer was actually helping out a rival family, and had betrayed him.
Solicitor Eve stepped in to help the family, thanks to Dotty's money, and she managed to sort Kheerat a new lawyer.
On Thursday, with Kheerat's hearing underway, Suki was hopeful they would manage to get him out.
But she waited nervously as no news came in, while her other son Vinny was there to offer his support to his sibling.
It was good news though, and Kheerat soon returned to Walford and was seen walking through the door with his brother.
Suki could not wipe the smile off of her face and decided the family needed to celebrate with a meal later that evening.
She also thanked Dotty for her help, claiming she saved her son's life - and told her she was always going to be a part of the family.
Viewers were thrilled to see Kheerat finally out, and they took to Twitter to welcome him back.
One viewer said: "Me sleeping tonight knowing Gray is finally locked up and kheerat’s a free man."
Another tweeted: "Yaaaayyyy!!!! Kheerat’s home!!!"
A third added: "Yaaas Kheerat is home," as a fourth agreed: "Glad kheerat is back."
