EastEnders fans have been left puzzled after one character was noticeably absent as word spread about Mick Carter.
Shirley has been struggling to cope following the incident on Christmas Day, locking herself in the Queen Vic and refusing to see anyone despite their offers of support. Finally, Jean and Denise managed to get access into the pub to find Shirley drunk and out cold on the floor as they chucked a glass of water over her and woke her up.
Bringing her up to the flat, they sat with her and tried to support her through her grief whilst Mitch was seen getting very emotional as he admitted it has been tough for him since Mick disappeared.
He was later shown having a drink with Harvey and Rocky as they raised their beer cans in memory of Mick. There was also scenes as the Square reacted to the shock events, with Martin Fowler insisting Janine was to blame.
However, one character was obviously missing from the scenes, which left fans surprised as Mick played a huge part in his life. Callum had Mick as his best man at his wedding and he also lived with the Carters for a year when he arrived.
One puzzled fan wrote on Twitter : "Very odd that Callum isn’t included in these public grief scenes for Mick given he lived with the Carters for over a year and had him as Best Man at his wedding #EastEnders."
Whilst another viewer replied agreeing with the lack of Callum grieving: " #EastEnders Whitney I understand as they did share a kiss once and did love each other. But I agree with you on Callum too. Callum lived with the Carter's for a year and had some aftermath after Tina died as well. Technically the whole Square should have been there to greave Mick."
"Callum literally being a Carter and yet surprise surprise we don’t see his reaction….. #EastEnders," one penned, with another sharing of the 'missing' scenes: "Callum could do with being told about Mick #EastEnders."
Another fumed: "seeing the square’s reaction to mick’s death has been really good cause the last year we lacked aftermath and acknowledgment on this scale? although, there are some characters we should see more. like callum ?? the carters were his family when he first came in. they ain’t letting callum exist outside his marriage and it bothers me, love my ballum but are you telling me ben can have all these separate scenes with other people but cal is hiding in a basement somewhere? in confusion. #EastEnders."
