EastEnders viewers were left on the edge of their seats on Tuesday evening as the Gray Atkins situation intensified.
The latest instalment of the BBC soap started with Mick Carter reeling from Whitney Dean's bombshell about Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) murdering Tina as Shirley barged in and demanded to know what was happening.
Whitney and Mick (Danny Dyer) were left with no choice but to tell her and she vowed to end Gray as she stormed out of The Vic.
The episode intensified as Shirley banged on Gray's front door and was clearly ready to do some serious harm to him.
Feeling panicked, Gray called Chelsea and told her to come home straight away because they were going away for a few weeks.
He refused to explain what was going on and Chelsea became even more suspicious when she heard Shirley banging on the door at the other end of the phone.
Wanting to protect Jordan, Chelsea lied and told Gray that their son had to stay in hospital for longer.
Meanwhile, back in the Square, Shirley tried to break down Gray’s door but was eventually talked down by Mick.
Worried about the fury she had caused, Whitney opened up to Shirley about her own difficult past and convinced her not to hurt Gray.
Soap fans were loving the drama and took to Twitter to comment, but some were not happy about it being a 20 minute episode instead of 30 minutes.
One viewer tweeted: "How are we receiving 20 minute episodes on a week like this # EastEnders."
A second person posted: "Not the nurse pretending to get Chelsea & calling the police LO on Kheerat and them arresting him could have done with the full 30mins ep 20 mins not enough #EastEnders."
A third viewer wrote: "@bbceastenders been a day one fan but these 19 minutes episodes you can do better #eastenders #bbc."
And a fourth added: "Nah I need another #Eastenders episode like right now."
Someone else commented: "this weeks #Eastenders is so intense."
