Earthquake activity at two Alaska volcanoes could signal eruption, officials warn

A volcano in remote Alaska is experiencing elevated earthquake activity, which could signal an increased potential for eruption, officials have warned, the second such alert issued in a week.

Earthquake activity near the Takawangha Volcano increased over the past 48 hours and is continuing, Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) officials said.
