A large-scale emergency services presence was required in Paisley town centre in the early hours of this morning.
Multiple police vehicles, a fire engine and ambulance crews were spotted by passers-by around 3am on Bridge Street at its location over the White Cart Water.
It’s understood the response was as a result of concern for a person. The street was sealed off while emergency services personnel tended to the individual.
The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) confirmed to the Paisley Daily Express that a man in his 30s had been taken to the nearby Royal Alexandra Hospital following the incident.
An SAS spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.34am today to attend an incident on Bridge Street.
We dispatched one ambulance, an advanced paramedic and our special operations team (SORT) to the scene.
“We transported one male patient in his 30s to Royal Alexandra Hospital.”
