Eamonn Holmes takes second sly swipe at Phillip Schofield amid This Morning feud

Eamonn Holmes has taken yet another swipe at Phillip Schofield amid the behind-the-scenes This Morning drama.

ITV stars Phillip and Holly Willoughby have been embroiled in a bitter public fallout after their friendship rapidly deteriorated.

They have been under intense scrutiny for many months and Phillip, 61, explained things had "not been easy" for him and Holly, 42, leaving his former best friend "blindsided" by his unexpected public statement.

It got to the point that insiders, fans and former co-stars all shared their two cents on the sensitive topic, with many sharing their hopes for a presenter "shake-up".

Eamonn pitched in on the conversation and previously claimed the presenting duo should've won an award at the BAFTAs for being the "best actors".

And now, the GB News presenter took it a step further and liked a tweet about him and his wife Ruth Langsford being 'shafted' from the ITV programme.

He liked a tweet from a fan that said: "IMO one of the worst things they did was to shaft Ruth and Eamonn so that's a drama alone."

Ruth and Eamonn were replaced by fan-favourites Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond two years ago.

Eamonn went on to work for GB News while Ruth remained on ITV.

Earlier this week, he discussed the drama on his show and said: "I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.

"They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.

"It's an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there's no difference between whether they present it or anyone else."

One fan was disappointed and called him out for the "witch-hunt" against the duo.

The broadcaster took to his social media to share a snap of himself as he detailed his "additional needs" following his recent health woes.

Under the photo, one person wrote: "I am a huge fan of you Eamonn and will continue to be. I just wish you hadn't jumped in on the Phil and Holly witch-hunt. Maybe I don't know it all, but I hate to see you trading insults."

Eamonn hit back at the fan by replying: "I think I have a lot more insight than u Lorraine."
