Eamonn Holmes has had his say on Holly Willoughby's return to This Morning, where she made an emotional statement about co-host Phillip Schofield, and branded Josie Gibson the "star of the show".
The former ITV presenter spoke about Phillip's affair scandal as he revealed ITV boss Magnus Brooke potentially faced questioning over the crisis at the Culture, Media and Sport Committee meeting on Tuesday, writes The Mirror.
Speaking on GB News, Eamonn said: "There's a big show going on at Westminster today, it's the Culture, Media and Sport Committee and today they will take evidence to scrutinise the Government's Draft Media Bill."
Isabel Webster continued: "Answering questions from MPs will be Magnus Brooke, ITV's Group Director of Strategy, Policy and regulation among others. Perhaps he's the man behind all the robust procedures that have been quoted so regularly in the last few weeks."
Eamonn added: "Or perhaps he knows nothing about them, we'll find out today. The Schofield scandal could overshadow the session, of course, and the line of questioning could easily turn towards who knew what and when at This Morning?"
Speaking about yesterday's programme, Eamonn said: "The star of the show yesterday, for me, was Josie Gibson. It's lovely to hear a West Country accent, isn't it?"
Isabel agreed: "Absolutely, so warm and there aren't enough West County accents on the TV."
On Holly's return, she addressed This Morning viewers and said: "Deep breath - firstly, are you OK? I hope so. It feels very strange sitting here without Phil and I imagine you might be feeling a lot like I have - shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on, and full of questions.
"You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.
"And it's equally hard to see the toll that it's taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone. I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.
"And from my own heart, can I just say thank you for all of your kind messages and thank you for being here this morning. Myself, Josie, Dermot, Alison and Craig and every single person on this show will continue to work hard every single day to bring you the show that we love."
