Eamonn Holmes has hit back at people who are against his outspoken views on the Phillip Schofield scandal after they appeared to spot a fresh 'swipe'.
The TV host hasn't held back on airing his thoughts about his former colleague after Phillip, 61, quit This Morning last month before later stepping back from ITV altogether after confession to a secret relationship with a much younger ITV colleague.
Phil took part in two sit down interviews to give his side of the story which Eamonn branded "lies".
And a few weeks on from the initial drama, Eamonn posted an image to his Twitter of him and his GB News co-star Isabel Webster after they had been nominated for a National Reality TV Award for Best News Programme.
The 63-year-old wrote: "Let’s face it… it doesn’t get more real than us!" He then added: "Your support for Isabel and me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance... Vote via the website if u can."
However, Eamonn's choice of words didn't go down too well with everyone as one follower replied: "I’m really disappointed too in the recent behaviour and unnecessary comments. Contributing to the persecution of another person, I Don’t feel a vote is really deserved at the minute. Shame for Isabelle though."
However, Eamonn hit back: "Sue, I'm sorry u have difficulty in understanding who was persecuted." But he appeared not to address any more of the negative comments as he continued to respond to other comments including one from Tonia Buxton which read: "Team Eamonn & Isabel all the way."
Eamonn has frequently criticised his former colleague in a series of rants on social media when Phillip's affair with a young male colleague at ITV came to light.
And now amid the constant backlash aimed towards Phillip following his "unwise but not illegal" affair, fans have taken to social media accusing Eamonn of taking things too far.
"I can’t believe people talk this way about another human being the way they do in this cowardly anonymous way, it’s still bullying," one wrote. "He has made a mistake and we are all allowed to be forgiven."
