Eamonn Holmes has shared the sad news that his beloved mother Josie has died aged 93.
The TV presenter, 62, took to Instagram to update fans and pay a loving tribute to the woman who raised.
He also shared a sweet picture of her waving from her doorstep.
“My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon,” he wrote in the caption.
“She’s at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation,” he continued.
“We loved and will miss her so much. Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye. Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy,” signing off with a kiss.
The Irish star’s dad Leonard died following a heart attack over 30 years ago.
His famous friend and colleagues rushed to offer their messages of condolence and support in the comment section.
Among them were Good Morning Britain stars Susanna Reid and Charlotte Hawkins.
“I’m so sorry. Sending love,” wrote Reid, while Hawkins added: “Oh no, so very sorry. Sending love & a big hug to you.”
GB News’ showbiz presenter Ellie Phillips penned: “I am utterly heartbroken for you, my friend. Sending so much love to you and your family.”
The former This Morning star who is married to Ruth Langsford has previously opened up about his relationship with his mum, who he called his “hero”.
He described Josie who lived in Belfast as having a mind which was still “sharp as a tack” and praised her for making him “the man I am”.
