Philadelphia is headed up the New Jersey Turnpike this weekend for an intriguing Sunday afternoon matchup against the AFC East’s New York Jets.
The Eagles are 12-0 in the all-time series vs. the Jets, and that dozen wins are currently the most wins without a loss by any NFL franchise in a head-to-head series.
Philadelphia (12-0 vs. New York; 6-0 vs. Houston) and Minnesota (5-0 vs. Houston) are the only NFL teams with undefeated records against active opponents.
With preparation underway, here are ten stats to know.
Dynamic offensive weapons
D’Andre Swift [509 yards] and A.J. Brown [541 yards] are the first Eagles with 500 scrimmage yards through five games since DeSean and Shady in 2013.
The only other NFL team with two guys with 500 scrimmage yards is the Dolphins with Tyreek Hill [665] and De’Von Achane [527].

Jalen Carter
Most sacks by Eagles rookie defensive tackles:
9 ½ … Corey Simon, 2000
5 ½ … Fletcher Cox, 2012
4 … Jerome Brown, 1987
3 ½ … Jalen Carter, 2023
3 ½ … Mike Patterson, 2005— Reuben Frank (@RoobNBCS) October 9, 2023
Jalen Carter on historic pace
Since 2016, when @NextGenStats' pressure data began being tracked, only two #NFL DTs have recorded 25+ pressures, 3.5+ sacks and 2+ FFs in the first 5 games of a season:

Nick Sirianni elite start
With the Eagles’ win Sunday, Nick Sirianni improved to 28-11 as an NFL head coach, a .718 winning percentage.

Jalen Hurts ultimate winner
Hurts has always been the ultimate winner and according to Reuben Frank, the Eagles All-Pro quarterback is reaching rare air through his first 40 starts.
A few Jalen Hurts stats: Hurts now has a 28-11 career record. The only QBs to win more games in their first 39 starts: Daryle Lamonica (33-6), Dan Marino (31-8), Kurt Warner (31-8], Patrick Mahomes [31-8], Lamar Jackson [31-8], Ken Stabler [30-9] and Danny White [29-10]. Hurts scored his 30th career rushing touchdown and that’s more than any other quarterback has had in his first 39 starts. Cam Newton had 25, Josh Allen 23 and Jack Kemp 22. Hurts passed Timmy Brown and moved into seventh place on the all-time Eagles rushing TD list. He trails only Steve Van Buren (69), Wilbert Montgomery (45), LeSean McCoy (44), Brian Westbrook (37), Randall Cunningham (32) and Ricky Watters (31).
Britain Covey under the radar star
According to Reuben Frank, Covey logged a 52-yard punt return against the Buccaneers, a 20-yard punt return against the Commanders, and a 20-yard punt return last Sunday vs. the Rams, becoming the first Eagle with a punt return of 20 yards or more in three straight games since Darren Sproles in 2014.
Covey now leads the NFL with a 16.9 average (minimum ten returns).
More Jalen Carter
Jalen Carter could lock down the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award by Thanksgiving.

300
Including the postseason, Eagles All-Pro quarterback Jalen Hurts has logged 300+ yards passing in a game 11 times in his young career, including each of the last two weeks.
Hurts hurts will face a Jets team that hasn’t allowed a 300-yard passer in 23 straight games.
More proof Britain Covey is elite
Often criticized as a rookie, the former Utah wide receiver is finding his groove in the NFL.
Covey ranks 1st in the NFL in punt return yards (186), 15+ yard punt returns (6), 20+ yard punt returns (4) and 25+ yard punt returns (2). He is also one of four players with a 50+ yard punt return (52).
Bonus
Jalen Carter has been feasting at an elite rate through five games, and Wilson holds the ball longer than most quarterbacks in the NFL.
When under pressure this season, Zach Wilson is completing only 41.5% of his passes for 4.4 yards per attempt.
His offensive line is banged up (RT is playing LG, rookie C is playing RG, and backup RT is starting) and he has the 4th longest time to throw in the NFL (3.05 sec). pic.twitter.com/VjceqJiSrt
