The AFL career of West Coast premiership hero Dom Sheed could be over after he ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Sheed, who has played 165 games since making his debut in 2014, suffered the heartbreaking injury at training on Monday in what the club described as an innocuous incident.
