Eagle-eyed Happy Valley fans spot issue with Tommy Lee Royce's closing scenes

Happy Valley just gets better and better each week and after last night's episode, fans were left on the edge of their seats.

The fourth episode of the third season aired last night and fans of the show reckon that Sergeant Catherine Cawood and Tommy Lee Royce will meet one last time before the end of the third and final season.

At the start of the series, Catherine came across the remains of a gangland murder victim in a drained reservoir and a series of unfortunate events has once again led her back to Tommy, who is the dad of her grandson Ryan and her late daughter's rapist, writes The Manchester Evening News.

Tommy was initially in the frame for committing the historical crime, however, Catherine received a tip-off from her colleague which led her to discover that Ryan had been visiting his dad. And to add insult to injury, it was her sister Clare, who was facilitating Ryan's visits to see his dad along with her partner Neil.

Following this discovery, Catherine confronts her sister in a tense scene which fans have said is the best TV they have watched.

And in last night's episode, Tommy staged a highly dramatic break-out with the help of his gangland associates. A fight broke out in the corridors and Tommy took the chance to escape, punching his guards out the way before jumping out of the box and legging it out of the court with no one able to stop him.

Tommy, who is played by James Norton, ran out the court and into a nearby shop, before pinching a bike and cycling clothing and heading off into Leeds.

However, eagle-eyed fans were quick to note that Tommy wasn't even in Leeds to begin with.

One tweeted: "Mad how Tommy escapes from Bolton and ends up in Leeds #HappyValley."

Another wrote: "Tommy Lee Royce entering a newsagent in Bolton and exiting in Leeds. I'm never going in that newsagent. #HappyValley."

While one commented: "Happy Valley filming continuity amazing. He breaks out of court exterior scenes Bolton. Dives into a newsagent in Bolton town centre but rides his bike away from God knows where?! Definitely not Bolton #HappyValley."

Another laughed: "The news agents in bolton has a portal to another town. Need to take a visit will save me on train fare #happyvalley." @islandniles added: "Good old Bolton pretending to be Leeds there (until the final shot). The old Magistrates court gets used for so much filming! #HappyValley."

Happy Valley continues on Sunday on BBC One.
