The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is no longer going forward with the online portion of E3 2022, meaning that the entire show is effectively canceled.
Earlier this year, the ESA stated that E3 2022 would be online-only due to omicron concerns. Now it seems that the digital event will suffer a similar fate. On Thursday, IGN reported that partners of the ESA were told the online event isn’t going forward either, meaning E3 2022 is canceled across the board.
The E3 expo has been an annual event for close to three decades now, with the first show happening in May 1995. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, the last two shows were online-only affairs.
Was able to independently confirm that E3 2022 is fully canceled now. Unsurprising given that they never actually confirmed they were doing a digital event in the first place and were so cagey when we asked them about it.https://t.co/DRHMhwfbyg
