Highly rated St Mirren star Dylan Reid has turned down the chance to join Celtic following talks with the Scottish Premiership champions.
Record Sport revealed that the Hoops have had a £125,000 bid for the St Mirren youngster accepted while there was also interest from Rangers. Ange Postecoglou admitted that if the Scotland under-17 international does sign then he would go into the B team for the Lowland League campaign rather than join up with the first-team after confirming the bid.
But following talks Reid has now opted to stay with Stephen Robinson's side. A St Mirren club statement read: "St Mirren Football Club can confirm that last week it allowed Dylan Reid permission to speak to a fellow cinch Premiership club regarding a possible transfer. We can now confirm that Dylan has turned down the opportunity to leave St Mirren at this point in time.
