Delivery group DX has opened a new depot in Paisley.
The site is located on Lyon Road in Linwood, and comprises around 22,000 sq ft of space on a 2.3 acre site.
It should create around 25 new jobs and enable DX to drive increased volumes and service levels to the west of Glasgow, as well as freeing up capacity at the group’s existing depot in Motherwell on the south east side of the city.
The new site is aimed at supporting growth of its freight division, which provides parcel services to both business and residential addresses and specialises in the delivery of irregular dimension and weight freight.
In the financial year ended 2 July, revenues at DX Freight grew by 15%; ahead of initial management targets.
The opening is part of a wider national expansion plan for DX, which also announced a new site in West Bromwich today, taking the total number of depots opened so far in 2022 to five.
Further site openings are planned as well as major upgrades to existing sites, equipment and fleet, as DX continues to invest in its delivery network as part of a £25m expansion programme.
Paul Ibbetson, managing director of DX Freight, commented: “We are pleased to have opened two new DX Freight depots in Paisley and West Bromwich - the sites boost capacity and enhance service levels in their respective regions.
“We plan further sites openings as well as major upgrades to existing sites as we scale our delivery network to support the group’s ongoing growth.”
