DWP: State Pensioners with certain eyesight conditions could be due up to £407 a month

Data from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) published in September 2021, quotes a figure of more than two million as the number of people estimated to be living with sight loss in the UK. It is a huge number and according to the organisation, refers to a level of sight loss severe enough to have a significant impact of people's daily lives.

Living with an eye condition can impact many areas of a person's life from working to travel issues and more. In fact, the Daily Record reported that some 57,180 working age adults under 65 are receiving extra financial support through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Adult Disability Payment (ADP) to help cover the extra costs associated with their condition. It added that 44,614 people over State Pension age are getting weekly help through Attendance Allowance.

If you think you could be eligible for extra assistance, or feel someone you know could benifit, here's what you need to know about claiming the financial support.
