The DWP have announced a payment increase for people on certain benefits including Universal Credit and PIP. The Department for Work and Pensions have confirmed there will be a pay boost to all state benefits.
The payments will come into force later this year as just over 31 million people are currently DWP claimants in the UK. It includes 5.8 million people on Universal Credit.
The Echo reports that people on Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) should get the pay uplift. The DWP will consider inflation and wage levels as well as the cost of living crisis when deciding how much the payments should go up.
