More than 143,000 families across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire will get the first Cost of Living payment from today, July 14. £326 will be paid into 143,700 Notts bank accounts from today until July 31 in a bid to help people with the rising cost of day-to-day living.
Around one in four families in the UK will be getting the support this month ahead of the second payment of £324 in the autumn. Households entitled to the payment are those who receive Universal Credit, income-based Jobseekers Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance, as well as those on Income Support, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Pension Credit.
The payment is tax free and does not affect any existing benefit awards.
