Costs across the board have been soaring in recent months with inflation and everyday expenditure continuing to head upwards. As the cost of the living crisis continues to hit household budgets, people across the UK are feeling the squeeze. However, millions of Brits on benefits such as Universal Credit, Jobseekers, state pension and more, will see their payments increase from April 2023.
The increase will see payments rise in line with the September inflation rate of 10.1%. It is a move that will cost £11billion, according to the Mirror, and was announced by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt in his Autumn budget. Mr Hunt said he was committed to "protect the most vulnerable". The chancellor also said those on Universal Credit will benefit by around £600 a year.
Around 10 million households are set to benefit from the extra financial support. The official Government website details what the changes will mean to individual categories of claimants. Based on this information, here’s a full list of benefits that will increase from April next year.
