DVLA warning over £1,000 fine and penalty points for any driver who wears glasses

The DVLA has issued a warning to any driver who wears glasses.

Short-sighted and long-sighted Brits have been warned they face a huge fine of up to £1,000, as well as three penalty points on their licence if they take to the road without their prescription specs.

As well as the financial penalties, motorists should also be aware that they may be at risk of invalidating their car insurance policy if they do not wear their prescription glasses at the time of an accident - which is then later deemed their fault, reports the Liverpool Echo.
