Duval: Toyota too far ahead for Peugeot, but Alpine beatable

Toyota locked out the front row for its home race in Saturday’s qualifying session, while the two Peugeot 9X8 Le Mans Hypercars secured fourth and fifth places on the grid behind Alpine’s solo A480 grandfathered LMP1.

Jean-Eric Vergne set Peugeot’s best qualifying time of 1m30.000s in the #93 car, 0.766s behind poleman Kamui Kobayashi, while Duval was 0.914s off the pace in the sister #94 car.
