Dundee United’s Community Trust has released its annual report that showcases the positive impact it has had on the city.
The report is the second checkpoint on progress against the Trust’s strategic plan launched in 2019.
It highlights that even with Covid restrictions, staff and volunteers demonstrated 'real commitment and flexibility' to deliver services in a variety of ways.
The group expanded its Festive Friends programme into January and helped deliver 100 Burns Suppers to older people and families across the City.
These events were followed by 100 Afternoon Tea boxes to families in the local community.
The Trust also kept its local walking footballers motivated with a daily step challenge – which by the end had amassed over 7 million accumulative steps.
David Dorward, Chair of the Community Trust, said: “Our Charity has managed to grow, adapt and develop against a backdrop of significant challenges as the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic continues.
“I would encourage you to have a good read of the report, and I promise you will be simply amazed at the range of services we deliver in the local community.”
The Community Trust also invested in its staff team; gearing the Charity up for further success.
In addition to increasing its commitment to Para-Sports by creating its first full-time development officer role, it also welcomed Cheryl Marshall and Lorna Thomson to the team as its first Employability Manager and Business Support Manager respectively.
Jamie Kirk, DUCT’s Chief Executive, added “I’m really proud of the efforts of all of our staff and volunteers and I’m really excited that we’re able to share this report with you.
“I’d also like to thank all of our members, sponsors, funders and supporters – we couldn’t do what we do without you and hopefully the report outlines just what a difference you’re helping us achieve.”
