Dundee boss Gary Bowyer fumes over Rangers red card call claiming Fashion Sakala 'kicked out' at Cammy Kerr

GARY BOWYER insists the outcome of Rangers' Premier Sports Cup quarter-final with Dundee could have been different had winger Fashion Sakala been sent off.

The Ibrox frontman was involved in an incident with Cammy Kerr as the pair battled for possession during the second half of the tightly contested last-eight clash.

Replays appeared to show Sakala kick out at Kerr before referee Willie Collum headed out a yellow card to both.

Dundee pushed for an equaliser but ultimately failed to cancel out Steven Davis' early first-half header, but Bowyer reckons his team should have been battling with a man advantage.

He told Premier Sports: "I think the game might have changed if the lad had got sent off.

"Having looked back at it we feel that the boy has kicked out at Cammy Kerr."

On the game itself, Bowyer added: "I feel we could have done more. But it was pleasing.

"There are lots of lessons from us to take into our league campaign.

"We knew we would have opportunities. It was then being positive and making the right decisions.

"I am pleased with certain aspects but we need to tidy up on a few when we go back into our league campaign."
