The KNC Groundworks Scottish Rally Championship resumes this weekend.
The Jim Clark Reivers Rally takes place on Sunday with Dumfries’ David Bogie among the favourites.
He is tied with Michael Binnie at the top of the standings after winning the Speyside Stages last time out. He’ll be joined by regular co-driver John Rowan in his WRC-spec Mini.
Castle Douglas’ Jock Armstrong will provide fierce competition. He has finished second in the two previous events this season with Cammy Fair once again on the notes in his Subaru Impreza.
Dumfries’ Michael McCulloch will begin the tarmac development of his Satria Evo, with Kirkgunzeon’s Rory Young being joined by Allan Cathers in his Ford Fiesta £2.
Angus Lawrie from Castle Douglas and Paul Gribben from Annan head up the Albyn Garage Challengers crews in their Mitsubishi Evo 9.
Other four-wheel drive teams include Ian Paterson from Dumfries in an Impreza, Dumfries pair Stuart and Alice Paterson in another Impreza and the Fiesta R5 of Dalbeattie’s Murray Grierson who will have Mark Grierson co-driving.
There is plenty of local interest in the two-wheel drive classes, with Penpont’s Greg McKnight and Dumfries’ Harry Marchbank in a Ford Escort Mk2 in class seven.
Escorts are also the car of choice for Dumfries’ Willie Nelson in class two and Creetown’s Jim McDowall in class six.
Class two also features the Peugeot 205 GTi of Bryan and Scott Gourlay from Dalbeattie.
Class five features the Peugeot 208 of Dumfries’ Peter Stewart and the similar car of Dumfries duo Richard Stewart and Mark Roberts.
They’ll be up against Dumfries’ Owen Paterson, who is co-driving the Honda Civic of Stephen Hunter.
And brother and sister Keith and Mairi Riddick from Haugh of Urr are competing in class three in their MG ZR.
