Dublin will be battered by a week of wet and windy weather as Met Eireann has forecasted miserable conditions.
A potential storm that was previously predicted to hit Ireland has now changed course and the latest weather models show the low-pressure system to the south of Ireland on Thursday night. Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather said the storm will most likely impact France.
Ireland will be hammered by unsettled weather all week but a change is on the way. A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Current indications suggest that high pressure will have a greater influence over the country on Sunday and early next week.

"It will be drier overall but a few light showers and patches of rain may develop at times."
Today will be cloudy and damp with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the morning. Sunny spells will develop in the afternoon with some showers with the highest temperatures of 14 or 15 degrees.
Tonight will be mostly dry with clear spells. Cloud will thicken overnight with the chance of some isolated drizzle patches later. The lowest temperatures will be around 9 or 10 degrees.
Tomorrow morning will start off with outbreaks of rain and drizzle which will clear in the early afternoon. This rain will be quickly followed by showers for the rest of the day, some of which may be heavy. It will be another mild day with the highest temperatures of 15 or 16 degrees.

Wednesday night
A Met Eireann forecaster: "Showers will ease and become more scattered on Wednesday night, with dry and clear spells developing, particularly over the eastern half of the country.
"Scattered showers will continue to feed into Atlantic coastal counties. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate southwest winds.
Thursday
"Widespread showers and some sunny spells will develop on Thursday, with the potential for some heavy downpours. Turning cloudier later in the day with rain pushing into the southwest. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
Thursday night
"Outbreaks of rain will spread northwards overnight, heaviest and most persistent in southern counties. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light to moderate southeasterly winds, backing westerly later."
