A Dublin Airport worker has been left red faced after falling on live TV.
Eagle-eyed viewers have been calling the iconic moment the “ice-slip 2.0” after the live news report has been going viral online. Nicole Gernon from Virgin Media News was at Terminal 2 yesterday evening and she was reporting on the severe flight disruptions with Aer Lingus.
A huge IT failure forced the airline to cancel 51 European flights from Dublin on Saturday which left around 9,000 passengers stranded. Thousands were angered over the lack of communication and many struggled to change their flight arrangements.

As Nicole reported the travel chaos on live TV, a man dressed in a high-vis jacket was walking behind her and suddenly fell on camera. The clip has since been shared all over social media, from Twitter to TikTok with lots of people comparing the clip to the “ice slip guy” from 2010, referring to the famous video footage of man falling on ice during the big freeze in Dublin.
But not everyone is convinced this is real, some have a theory that it was an employee looking for a laugh and falling on purpose. Someone posted: “That is the worst fake fall I've ever seen in my life. 2/10 to that person”.
Another said: “I am absolutely convinced that he saw the camera and did a deliberate fall. As an incredibly hammy actor myself I can recognise a fellow master of the craft.” A final added: “Chancer trying to outdo yer man that fell on ice a few years back”.
