A flight from Dublin Airport to New York that was carrying Taoiseach Micheal Martin was forced to turn back this evening.
Aer Lingus flight EI107 had departed Terminal 2 at around 5pm this evening but had to return to Dublin about 40 minutes in. The right engine of the Airbus A330-300 appeared to struggle as it vibrated during take-off, the Irish Examiner reports. It is understood that a bird strike caused the issue.
They were among reporters travelling with the Taoiseach and his officials to attend the United Nations General Assembly which he is due to address tomorrow. The flight was almost full and landed back into Dublin at around 6.20pm.
