Drunk man stages protest outside hotel after staff refuse entry - then realises mistake

A drunk man who staged a protest outside a hotel after being refused entry by staff soon realised his embarrassing mistake.

Police responded to reports of an intoxicated man lying in protest on the pavement outside of the Premier Inn in Bournemouth in the early hours of Sunday, 17, July.

However after being refused what he thought was his hotel room, he decided to lie down on the ground outside the hotel - until he was stopped by Dorset Police.

The man, who thought he was at the hotel room he had paid for, chose to protest sitting down until staff let him in.

The drunk man, however, had in fact gone to the wrong hotel - as he didn't have a booking with them.

After trying to find out from the drunk man which hotel he had booked police safely escorted him to his nearby hotel.

Dorset Police tweeted : "Officers have dealt with an intoxicated man who was trying to gain entry to a hotel where he didn't have booking.

"He laid on the floor in protest. Officers returned him to the hotel he has a booking for over the road."
