Drunk driver killed family matriarch on her birthday

The children of a woman killed on her 72nd birthday by a drunk driver have told a judge their family matriarch looked forward to enjoying her grandkids and travelling.

Carmel Maree Magutau, 50, faced Brisbane District Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death while intoxicated.
