Drugs worth £27,000 seized from two 'runabout' cars in Co Down

Drugs worth £27,000 have been seized from two "runaway" cars in the Kilkeel area of Co Down.

Police Newry, Mourne & Down posted on Facebook yesterday evening (Monday) that local officers had recovered the Class A and C substances, and that both vehicles were being inspected.

It said: "This evening local policing team officers located this haul of drugs in two runabout cars in the Kilkeel area.

"Officers were investigating an apparently abandoned car and located the Class A and Class C drug secreted in it.

"Further enquiries identified another car close by which also contained an amount of drugs.

"Approximately £27,000 worth of drugs taken off the streets. Both cars were also seized for further examination."

"If you know anything about drugs in your area please tell us anonymously by calling Crimestoppers Northern Ireland on 0800 555111."
