A man has died after he crashed his Mercedes into a tree.
Greater Manchester Police was called to Standish, Wigan shortly after 12.30pm on Monday, April 10. When emergency services arrived they found a Mercedes was involved in a crash on the A5209 Almond Brook Road.
The 75-year-old driver of the car was taken to hospital but despite the best efforts of medics, died a short time later, MEN reports.

The force said: "It is believed he suffered a suspected medical episode at the wheel before colliding with a tree."
A 73-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She is being supported by specialist officers whilst she receives treatment in hospital.
"GMP are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident - or may have dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage – to please share it with GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) so it can help with their enquiries to understand what happened," the force said.
