Dramatic search for missing person at sea

Searches for a missing person were carried out along the coast earlier this week.

BARB Search & Rescue called its volunteers on Monday night to assist coastguards with the search. They were joined by coastguard teams from Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare, while police officers carried out on foot searches of the seafront, beach and nearby area.

It said: "Our volunteers were called out by HM Coastguard at 10.38pm on Monday, May 16 to assist in the search for a missing person.
