Drake made one lucky fan’s whole year when he gifted them an expensive designer bag at one of his concerts.
The Canadian rapper, singer and songwriter, 36, walked out on stage at his show in Los Angeles, California, holding a pink leather Hermès Birkin bag and declared “Drake ain’t cheap”, earning cheers of approval from the audience.
He then selected a woman in the front row to be the lucy recipient and advised: “Make sure she has security on the way out.”
Drake’s love of Birkin bags is well documented. In 2017, he told The Hollywood Reporter that he’s been collecting Birkin bags to give to “the woman [he ends] up with.”
Naturally the moment was captured in all of its glory on someone’s video phone and has since been uploaded online.

Three years later, the Grammy award winner displayed some of his collection, which is housed in a “two-story closet … adorned with amethyst hardware, rock crystal and seating upholstered in diamond-tufted shearling with polished nickel studs” in an Architectural Digest spread.
They don’t come cheap either. Available in a wide variety of styles, colours, sizes and textures, new Birkin bags typically cost anywhere from £6,500 to more than £24,000.
