The New York Jets were unfortunately sniped at a position of need, as they lose out on the drafts top offensive tackles, but they make a good pivot by nabbing Iowa State edge rusher Will McDonald IV.
McDonald was explosive as a pass rusher for the Cylcones, with 27 sacks over the last three seasons and a truly elite resume along the defensive line. He has made an impact along that defense for five years with the team, and his talent and experience projects well to the next level.
It will be a bookend of pass rushers between McDonald and last years first round pick Jermaine Johnson on the edges of a talented Jets defense. McDonald has a large pass rushing tool box and an excellent athletic profile that projects well to the next level, where he could be a consistent 10+ sack man for New York.
