Arsenal transfer target Douglas Luiz was sent off in Aston Villa's defeat to Fulham on Thursday night following an altercation with Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Steven Gerrard's men made the trip to Craven Cottage looking to return to winning ways after Sunday's defeat to Chelsea. However, Harrison Reed's first-half goal put Marco Silva's men ahead before Villa's night went from bad to worse on the hour mark.
With Villa already struggling to get back into the game, frustrations boiled over from the Brazilian midfielder when he was involved in an incident that resulted in Mitrovic on the floor.

After former Arsenal winger Willian was fouled by Tyrone Mings, Luiz and Mitrovic were involved in an on-the-filed incident. Referee Michael Oliver did not see Luiz's headbutt, but VAR picked up on the violent conduct and Luiz was shown a straight red card.
The incident won't do any favours for the player in attracting a possible move in the January transfer window. Arsenal had been heavily linked with the 24-year-old and had three Deadline Day bids rejected by the West Midlands side.
Luiz recently signed a new contract at Villa Park, with his previous deal due to expire next summer, but that hasn't diminished any talk of a future exit. However, his antics in the capital will not go down well with the recruitment team at the Emirates Stadium.
